Unfortunately, here in the Philippines, iPhone 4S will still not be available “officially” since Philippines is still not included on the list of countries announced by Apple from their Press Release. Apple officially announced the next thirteen (13) countries which will receive iPhone 4S and the date given will be on November 11. Along with the countries cited were Hong Kong, South Korea, New Zealand and ten more. Furthermore, Apple said that end-users from these countries can start placing their pre-orders on the 4th of November (Friday). However, among with the countries they provided, six of them will not be offered pre-orders. These are Albania, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro and Panama – I can’t confirm the reason why.
As of now, there are 29 countries around the globe where iPhone 4S is being sold officially. And among those countries is Singapore, which I believe the closest country where we, Pinoys, can get our very own iPhone 4S (I already made articles on how and where you can get your own iPhone 4S – just browse around). Apple plans to make iPhone 4S to be available in more than 70 countries before 2011 ends.
Here’s the list of the 13 countries Apple cited that will receive iPhone 4S on November 11.
It is possible that our Telcos (Globe, Smart, and others) are still in talk with Apple, bidding who will be the next exclusive partner of Apple and the official distributor of iPhone 4S here in the Philippines. If you remember, Globe got the deal for iPhone 4 and it is possible that they will again have iPhone 4S this time.
Let’s just wait and see.
