A couple hours back, we’ve heard about the recent released of Absinthe For Mac which can unlock/jailbreak your iPhone 4S and iPad 2 which are the so-called A5 Apple devices. And now, the iPhone Dev Team released their version of jailbreak and this time it’s for end-users with Microsoft Windows platform. This tool is called CLI or command line interface. However this untethered jailbreak, as much as possible are for advance users only since there’s no GUI and if you’re a fresh user you will find this one a little bit troublesome. There’s no report yet if The Chronic Dev Team will be launching their Absinthe for Windows version users.
The jailbreak like what was mentioned in my previous post about Absinthe for Mac, it will be compatible only with the following A5 Apple device and firmware versions – iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406) while iPad 2 Wifi/GSM/CDMA running iOS 5.0.1. Otherwise you will find it impossible to jailbreak your device and will have to wait for the next jailbreak release if you updated your iOS to the latest version.
Now to start unlocking your device, you should download this application – CLI for Windows here – link. Then you can proceed and go ahead with the next step. The file is compressed so you have to unzip it and it should be decompressed on the root directory of your C:. Once you have decompressed the zipped file, you should hit on Start then Run or you can hit on your START + R (Windows Shortcut). Then type-in cmd.exe or just cmd to open a new Window DOS console. The next thing you should do since you are already inside the DOS console – go to the root directory which is C: and then type cd C:cinject_0.4.3. Then type this cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig on your DOS prompt.
Now, the next command is cinject.exe -j payloads and then wait for the backup. And the last command is cinject.exe -w. Then once everything is done, go back to your device and then you will now notice the Absinthe icon from your Home screen. You just need to tap Absinthe icon and you will be redirected to GreenPois0n’s site. This step will reboot your device and once it goes back you will notice that Absinthe icon is now replaced with the Cydia icon – That’s it! You’re done.
Absinthe CLI can be downloaded from this link.
