Facebook profile URLs have changed now to their own vanity links version so it is somehow difficult to easily find out your own Facebook profile ID number. Some Facebook users care less about it and even liked it more since it’s easier to remember a vanity URL than a link that has numbers on it. However, if you are a blogger or a website administrator and you want to include some of the Facebook Social Plugin into your website you’ll need to know your own Facebook profile ID or even your Facebook application ID. Now the problem is there seems no way to identify your Facebook ID number by just going into your own profile.
If you want to know or find your Facebook profile ID number, there is still a way and that is by utilizing Facebook Developers’ Graph API tool. This tool is used for Facebook Social Graph and from it you can easily identify almost all the important information you need from your Facebook account. It will show your Facebook’s profile ID number, username, type, likes, etc.
Before everything else, let me refresh your mind on how Facebook profile URL are shown before and the latest formatting:
OLD Profile Link:
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100004595525438
NEW Profile Link:
https://www.facebook.com/arsieorganojr
So how hard is it to find my own Facebook Profile ID? It’s not hard at all. OK let us take my blog site’s Facebook Fan Page as for the example – https://www.facebook.com/eyes4tech. If you notice I don’t have anymore that long unique ID numbers that correspond to my account instead it shows eyes4tech. For me to identify the Facebook Profile ID number all I have to do is follow this steps:
1. Open a blank browser and type this in the address bar – https://graph.facebook.com/ (don’t hit on enter yet);
2. Then add your username (from https://www.facebook.com/eyes4tech I will take eyes4tech) after the forward slash of https://graph.facebook.com/ – result: https://graph.facebook.com/eyes4tech;
3. Now you can hit the enter key and see the result in text format.
VIOLA! You have now obtain your Facebook profile ID number successfully.
I hope this helps you.
