According to the latest report, Apple iPhone 5 will be thinner, slim enclosed in a metal chassis, and will be using the new nano SIM card. This is the most recent report which was even confirmed by The Wall Street Journal. On my last post about the release date of Apple iPhone 5, I already mentioned there that the next iPhone will come out with metallic appearance will a size at about 4-inches. Well, so far this is still the same update but the updated report says that the manufacturing of the next and new iPhone 5 has finally begun. Apple’s favorite spot, Asia, where parts of the new iPhone is now being manufactured. And these manufacturers as wished by Apple will be using a new technology that will create a thinner screen display. This is to ensure that the aforementioned company can win against their greatest rival in the mobile industry – Samsung. According to the source in order to make this new technology possible, a group of manufacturers which involves Japan’s LCD makers – Sharp, Japan Display Incorporated, and South Korea’s LG Display are now mass producing panel screens for the next Apple iPhone. The new technology is called “in-cell” which will integrate sensors directly into the LCD. With this an additional layer which usually function as a touch sensors will no longer be needed. Thus, this will yield into a much thinner screen display.
And to give you a more detailed information or better understanding about this “in-cell” multi-touch technology, here’s a short video clip entailing how this technology works from LG Display.

Another possible breakthrough is that the new iPhone 5 will be using a much smaller than the usual micro-SIM card called nano SIM card. According to the report, European carriers are now accumulating large stocks of this nano SIM cards which makes the rumor somehow true. The size of a nano SIM card is 40% smaller than with the current SIM pack that iPhone 4S uses. Another factor which if in case is true, will give more space to the soon to be released iPhone 5. The stockpiling being made by most European carriers seems to prove that the next iPhone will be using the new nano SIM card and they don’t want to be caught off guard again like what happened when the iPhone 4S was released with micro-SIM – they almost ran out of stock.
The new Apple iPhone 5 size is also one of those features that is being looked at by most of the Apple fans. It is said that it will not only be thinner but also slimmer with a metallic body casing or chassis. Apple’s new iPhone will have a 4-inches screen display, report says.
With all of these new reports, whether they are or will happen when the new iPhone 5 is release there’s only one fact that I am sure of and that is Apple will do everything to get back on track. With Samsung around and other mobile competitors, Apple needs to make this as perfect as can be to outwit the leading mobile brand in the market and lead once again. Samsung Galaxy S II regime and fame isn’t far from over then Galaxy S III came out which made Samsung even far richer than before. So Apple needs to make this new iPhone 5 more enticing for tech consumers than its predecessors or else.

I agree and I would like to believe that Apple wants to make the new iPhone 5 release far more better than what we currently see with SGS3.
