Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 are the best in its domain. The Apple iPhone 5 is the best iOS devices while the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the finest among Android phones. The major share of profits and sales in the iOS market and the Android market are due to these two phones.
The Apple iPhones are generally a status symbol for many people as a result of which it has an exquisite type of design which generates a first-class feeling. The previous version of the iPhone was a little heavy compared to its size due to the all glass construction but the new iPhone 5 is much lighter as the material used is a fusion of glass and aluminum. The iPhone 5 with its 4 inch screen is a very palm friendly device. But a few scratches are still there in the design. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on the other hand is bigger than the iPhone 5 and narrower and slimmer. But the 5.5 inch display is a tad too big to be kept inside the pocket. The polycarbonate plastic design instead of premium metals and glass makes it much lighter for its size. The Galaxy Note 2 has a design advantage. It has a non-unibody chasis that allows for easy changing of sim cards.
The Apple iPhone 5 has an 1136 by 640 pixel resolution compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2’s 1280 by 720 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Note 2 has a super AMOLED screen which features three sub pixels for every pixel and generates an awesome picture quality. The AMOLED screen also has a much brighter display and is easily visible even under sunlight. However, the Apple iPhone 5 has 326ppi pixel density compared to Galaxy Note 2’s 256ppi. The pixel density with a 4.6% reflectance ratio make the Apple iPhone 5’s screen the best for outside use. This low reflectance ratio beats the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when it comes to viewing under sunlight.
Both the phones feature the latest operating systems among the iOS and the Android versions. The Galaxy Note 2 uses the latest Android OS version 4.1 (Jelly Bean). This OS imparts and iOS type fluidity and runs at 60 fps. The advantage of the Jelly Bean over the iOS is that it is much more user friendly and a widget system so that you can easily spread and access all the information needed on a daily basis.
The Apple iPhone 5 uses an A6 processor (dual core) which has a 1.3 GHz of memory clock speed. The A6 is a customized processor which has architecture between the Cortex A9 and the A15. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on the other hand uses an Exynos quad core processor having a memory clock speed of 1.6 GHz. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 uses an ARM Mali-400 GPU while the iPhone 5 uses tri-core Power VR GPU.
