From the looks of it, @pod2g and other teams are working so hard to release the latest untethered jailbreak for iOs 5.1.1 devices especially for the latest iPhone 4S and the new iPad or also known as iPad 3. Pod2g is updating his blog posts and even tweeting the latest developments on how are they progressing with the testing of the latest untethered jailbreak. One of the latest update he tweeted was that the untethered jailbreak was working on iPad 1 and iPad 2.
Here’s the tweet he posted about his developments on soon to be out jailbreak app for our iDevices.
iPad1,1 and iPad2,1 tested with iOS 5.1.1. Untethering worked.

Apparently, the new Jailbreak will not be compatible to all of the Apple devices and Pod2G pointed out which of these devices can use the untethered jailbreak.
The following iDevices will work on the upcoming 5.1.1 jailbreak
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4S
- iPad 1 (1st generation)
- iPad 2 Wifi
- the new iPad a.k.a. iPad 3 Wifi
The following list of iDevices are not that fortunate – yet.
- iPhone 3Gs
- iPod 3G
- AppleTV 3
And here is the list that are still unconfirmed if there’ll be any jailbreak coming.
- iPod 4G
- iPad 2 GSM
- iPad 2 CDMA
- iPad 2 Wifi, R2
- iPad 3 CDMA
- iPad 3 Global
- AppleTV 2
This is really cool since the soon jailbreak release version is “untethered” which means you won’t have to worry anymore in any case that your iPhone 4S or the new iPad (iPad 3) reboots or ran out of battery. You will always have the patched kernel – until the next patch. The untethered jailbreak will be out sometime next week or maybe the following week after.
