[Rumour] Could This Be The New iPhone 5 Earphones?

There’s a new video which leaked yesterday showing the possible new iPhone 5 earphones.  I made a one quick look at it and judging by the video it seems that the new acclaimed  pair of earphones’ designed got revamped.  Yes, the new iPhone 5 earphones shows a different design from what we used to know and loved. I can say that the design looks more like an earbud to me.  The video came from a Viatnamese YouTube’r showing off the rumored iPhone 5 earphones.  To be honest, if this is going to be the new set of earphones then I might love it because between a regular iPhone earphone and this new earbud… I’ll really go for the latter.  Check out the video below and see for yourself.

Apparently, the video that you are about to see has no audio. It was actually removed by the Youtube uploader and replaced it with this one. Luckily, MacRumors was able to translate it before it was actually replaced.  And quoting from MacRumors‘ translation from the Viatnamese video:

In my hands are the new earphones for the iPhone 5 that is about to come out – Apple’s next generation of iPod [sic]. These will replace the current earphones that are on the market. These are manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam. They have the appearance of a horse’s head, not like earbuds. When they are worn, they have a much smaller profile. They have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit – there’s no part that looks like it would come apart – not like earbuds; the integrated design is characteristic of Apple products. Here I have the old earphones for comparison. The new ones are much smaller; when they are worn, they do not hurt the way earbuds do. You can see on the old ones the surface is a separate part that looks like it can be detached – not like the small surface of the new one. The old earphones were mostly made in China, with some in Vietnam. But the new ones are clearly made in Vietnam. (Reading from the wires): “Designed by Apple in California, assembled in Vietnam.”

We’re not really sure if this is the real deal because from what we know, Apple products were mostly manufactured from Foxconn plants in China. But according to Tinhte there’s a Foxconn plant in Vietnam where they were assigned to produce the new iPhone 5 earphones – well, talk about Apple’s secrecy here. 🙂

Do you think this is going to be the new iPhone 5 earphones that will be included in the release on September 12 Apple event?

  1. Well, don’t know whether this will be earphones for iPhone 5 (though we’ll learn that soon), but I most certainly like them. Hope that they’ll be available in stores.
