If you are a fan of the legendary Star Wars series, you must have heard by now about the launch of the Lego ™ version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Warner Bros. Interactive and TT games are gearing up to release the game on June 28th! The announcement was a pleasant and exciting surprise for all gaming fans for sure! Lego Star Wars is kind of a family name that is sure to touch many lives and The Force Awakens is going to be the first Lego Star Wars game since The Clone Wars was released in 2011 to pretty much varied reviews from fans and gamers and critics.
TT Games had recently launched yet another superhero game recently, the Lego Avengers game which was also received with mixed reviews. There were instances where the game would be lagging, but sometimes, the game would be extremely exciting and hard to stop playing. It can be said without doubt TT Games has a knack for parody and perfect comic timing and can craft a delightful experience in a game. However, their previous record shows that they have a major shortcoming in terms of consistency and sustained entertainment. Keeping the Lego Avengers in mind, there may be a few things TT Games need to think about before launching a game as big as The Force Awakens.
One of the biggest issues faced by gamers who played Lego Avengers was that there were unnecessary wastage of time between each level where you will have to study the whole grid you are in and spend hours literally trying to search for clues to advance. This was an absolute necessity if you needed to face a boss fight. This is also another reason why the game received mixed reviews we believe. Let’s hope Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will not have such complicated or boring mini games with repetitive nature at all!
Gameplay Should Meet the Movie Standards
The Lego Avengers movie was successful in a way because they kept close proximity to the story of the films and most of the dialogues used in the game was also from the movie. Maybe they did not have enough creative copywriters to come up with a new set of dialogues, but still it paid off. However, there were some weird moments in the Avengers and Age of Ultron where we couldn’t literally hear what the characters were saying because of improper mixing and editing. Maybe they were cutting down on voiceover artists to save up on money and budget. Hopefully, the gameplay of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be a force to reckon with!
Multiple Playable Characters
The Lego Avengers game had a huge roster of superheroes you could play as. That was pretty interesting as we could be Tony Stark or Thor or The Hulk! Star Wars fans will be expecting to play as different characters from the movie. Every Star Wars fan might have their own favorite character, maybe even Kylo Ren! Avengers boasted over 200 playable characters, for Star Wars, maybe it might be less than 10.
It will be next to impossible for a bad game with a mix up of Lego and Star Wars, but hope they do not let us down. If you are a gamer and haven’t tried the previous Lego games check out our old vault where we sell old video games!
