Blogging Business Is There Money In Writing Articles Online?

Making money through blogging business? Can someone really earn from writing on blog site, is there still money in blogging? That is one good question and the most common one especially for new-born writers.  I’ve been seeing this kind of question on most of the forums or groups I’ve been into. They were asking me, why am I still in the blogging business when they have heard that blogging is a dying business. It is true that not all bloggers were lucky nowadays.  And when I say “not all”, it means there are content writers, bloggers, or website owners are still earning from creating and sharing informative contents.  Those people are still in the business and I have seen them grow each year. And there are still other new enthusiasts that are joining in the business. So, to answer that question about if there is still money in blogging then my answer is YES!

Is There Still Money In Blogging

But wait. It is not as easy as it looks. There are a couple of things you need to check within you before you engage into the blogging business. It is not something that you just build a website, post some contents and wait for the money to come straight into your pocket. You should plan for it and of course work really hard for it.

NOTE: This article is intended to answer if there is still money in blogging business and not to entail how to earn from it. I will be posting some ways on how you can monetize from writing articles.

How do I start?

First, you need to know from within what is it you want to write? You need to start from small but you have to think big. What do I mean about starting with small but think big? For starters, it is not a good idea to create a multi-niche blog site especially if your ideas are all cluttered.  You need to focus on one or two topics first.  For example, tech and blogging tips, or maybe health and beauty, or even a focus on a certain business niche. In this way you can concentrate and build a reputable website. You can always expand in the future if you want to make a hybrid type of blog site.

So how can I earn money?

Bluntly, to answer that question – not yet. Yes, you won’t earn much yet if you are still on your first to six months of blogging.  As I’ve mentioned you need to establish first a reputable website. You need to drive more readers and visitors straight into your website – focus on organic visitors (visitors coming from search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo!). You need to work so hard to make this work. Like from here, you need to engage yourself on learning SEO or at least you should know how to drive traffic into your website. One good tip for starters is to use the power of social media curators. This simply means that you can start by posting and sharing your articles on social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, StumbleUpon, and many more.

Once you have establish at least 500 visitors per day (assuming that almost 80%-90% of it were from organic search) then this is the time you can start monetizing your blog site.  You can now join some of the known advertisers and affiliate marketing companies to start earning money.

Who? Advertisers? Affiliate Marketing Companies?

Yes, this is the way you can earn money from blogging. One of the most popular is Google Adsense Program. You just need to have a valid Google GMAIL account and apply your blog site. Then you just need to wait for their approval and code from which you can embed on your blog site.  For each click from your readers you earn money from it – but I do not encourage you to click the ads yourself as this act will lead you to nowhere. Google can and will detect your activities and will soon remove you from their program.  There are others too with the same program but not as lucrative as Google Adsense Program like, Chitika, BidVertiser, Infolinks, and many more.

If you don’t want these, you can opt to affiliate marketing like joining the programs from Amazon or Clickbank from which you earn from each purchase from your visitors.

Or if your website have become so popular and the impression is too high, you can also choose direct advertisers or programs like from BuySellAds or BuyAds.com.  You can create your own set of prices for each ad units space that you sell.

I don’t have the budget to build my own website, what should I do?

Well, there are other options that you can choose if you don’t want to build your own because you don’t have the budget or you don’t have the capability to create one. There are a lot of reputable e-Zine websites from which they accept freelancer content writers. One good example is Hubpages.com, all you need to do is register an account and create unique but with quality articles for them. You can select from their affiliate programs for you to earn. And if you already have an account with Amazon or Google Adsense, they can allow you to integrate it together with your contents.

The possibilities are quite big but you really need to work hard on it especially if you are just starting with this kind of business.
