Apple Apps

Are You Looking For Pinoy Henyo App For iPhone and iPad?

For the last couple of days since I posted this great certified Pinoy Android App – Pinoy Henyo – I have been receiving lots of reports and questions like, “Is there such app for iPhone?“. And I still see many interested Apple iDevice users who are patiently seeking and waiting for this game application to be available in Apple iTune Store.  Unfortunately, since the day when the game became popular and swinging between the first and second slot of being the Top Free Android app in the Android Market – none from Apple developers tried to recreate this application for iPhone and iPad users.  The question now is why?

My answer is only based on our IT Director’s explanation when I asked him a favor to create the same free application for Apple devices.  He said he would love to since it looks easy and there’s nothing much to code really since it only needs to flash a random word, scrolling horizontally, and a timer not to mention the categories.  But the problem is his license to iOS development is already expired and it will require him to pay again to renew it. From that I can see clearly now the main problem.  Yes, I am aware of it and immediately recall when I registered to Apple iOS Developer account.  In order for me to test the iOS BETA updates I need to be a registered Apple Developer user and that includes paying $99 per year.  Whoa! I will test their product and I still need to pay?  The same thing goes for those who creates an iPhone, iPad or any iDevice App – they have to join, enroll on a certain iOS Developer Program and pay.

Here’s is a sample iOS Developer Program that Apple is offering for those interested developers.

So what’s the problem here?

Well, this is just me and here is my thought about this and I may be wrong about this – it is all about investment. Sad to say, before you can even launch an application with Apple and publish this on iTunes you need to purchase some of the tools you need. Another one is copyright, unless the same popular group who created Pinoy Henyo for Android could replicate this for Apple devices then there will be no more issues about it. Also the feasibility of the application getting popular – we all know that this game is popular here in the Philippines but how many of our dear Pinoys owns an Apple device such as iPhone and iPad? There are still other factors that might hinder Apple developers on creating the same game application.

Although I know some Apple developers who can possibly work on this project, still I am not sure if they will go for it.  I will try until the day someone says that they’ve launched the same popular game Pinoy Henyo for iPhone and iPad.

Crossing my fingers.
