Finally it all paid off! After all that sleepless nights and tiring days for these Apple hackers trying to find a way within the code of A5 devices such as iPhone 4S and iPad2 just to provide most of us all the jailbreak we’ve been waiting for. The Chronic Dev Team finally released Absinthe, the untethered jailbreak for A5 iOS5 devices. However, I don’t think this will not come into reality if it wasn’t with the effort of the whole “Dream Team” which includes @pod2G who cracked and provided the untethered Corona jailbreak for A4 devices, iPhone Dev Team, The Chronic Dev Team, @planetbeing, @saurik, @pimskeks, @p0sixninja, @MuscleNerd, and @xvolks. These guys from different groups worked together to create an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. I guess it wouldn’t hurt a lot is you use their application and make some contribution – well, they’ve added this now on their GUI so just give them their efforts worth.
Going back to the untethered jailbreak from The Chronic Dev Team Absinthe. Unfortunately, this untethered jailbreak is only available for MAC users but surely the PC Desktop version will soon be out as well – patience. But for now, if you are a MAC user and wanted to give this untethered jailbreak a jump for your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 then here’s your chance now. However, you should take note that this jailbreak only supports A5 devices like iPhone 4S and iPad 2 with iOS 5.0. If somehow you already upgraded to iOS 5.0.1, then you have to wait for the next jailbreak version because this release was intently made for A5 devices with iOS 5.0 and higher base band might not work and is still not supported with this version. This is further explained by the iPhone Dev Team here explaining the supported firmware of this jailbreak.
Some of the jailbreakers are still waiting for the updates from other jailbreak applications like redsn0w, corona, ultrasnow and many others. Soon, probably by next week we’ll be hearing from them as well like what the iPhone Dev Team promised.
